Il cantante degli Snow Patrol Gary Lightbody ha scritto una bellissima lettera di ringraziamento agli U2, che è stata pubblicata direttamente sul sito della band.
Ecco il testo originale:
'We are not U2. That is one of the things you learn from touring with them. We may have an amazing experience entertaining their audience on their stage but we are merely borrowing their space and time. We may think ourselves pretty damn special walking off that stage some nights, most nights truth be told, to the cheers and the raised arms of a crowd won over. We may think ourselves indestructible and we may think ourselves, as my father would say, quite the thing. We’ll go back to the dressing room and hug each other as we do (we're friends you know) and talk of the battle victorious and 'did you see the girl with the banner that said 'something something snow patrol something'?’ and I'll take a shower and in fresh socks and pants consider myself king of the castle. Then, buffed and shined, I'll find my way to the mixing desk in time to see four men from Dublin stride out onto the circular and towering stage we have not but half an hour ago graced.

Si è concluso il concerto che gli U2 hanno tenuto a Vienna.
Domani sera gli u2 si esibiranno nello Stadio Ernst Happel di Vienna davanti ad un pubblico stimato attorno alle 75.000 unità. I biglietti per questo evento sono andati sold out in sole 3 ore, evento unico per l'Austria. Ciò fa capire quanto sia alta l'attesa per questo spettacolo.
E' stato spostato al 30 settembre il concerto che gli U2 avrebbero dovuto tenere a Siviglia il giorno precedente.
The Edge, nella recente trasferta della band a Mosca, si è concesso ai fans assiepati fuori dall'albergo ed ha colto l'occasione per realizzare un video.
Nel corso degli anni un gran numero di artisti hanno condiviso lo studio di registrazione con gli U2.
Sono state ufficializzate le date dei concerti che gli u2 terranno alla fine del 2010 in Nuova Zelanda ed Australia.
A quanto pare, dopo aver provato alcune canzoni tra cui le due nuove questo pomeriggio la band è nuovamente sul palco anche stasera, con oltre 500 fans che già sono nei dintorni dello stadio.
